The Brief
To carry out specialist access inspections and remedial works across 4 spillway structures as part of an asset management programme for a Local client .
The Challenge
The spillways were located in remote, difficult-to-access environments, requiring meticulous planning to ensure safe access, material handling, and programme delivery. Working on critical water infrastructure demanded a high level of technical competence, detailed inspections, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
Our Solution
We were initially appointed to undertake a full clean and detailed inspection of all three dam and spillway structures using rope access techniques. This allowed close-up assessment of concrete condition and joint integrity without the need for intrusive access systems.
Following the inspection phase, we were invited back to site to complete targeted concrete repairs and repointing works, delivering an efficient end-to-end solution from assessment through to remediation.
The Result
All works were completed safely and to specification, with minimal environmental impact and no disruption to surrounding areas. The quality of delivery and professionalism of our team led to repeat instruction, with the client highly satisfied with both phases of the project.
Client Feedback
“High Torque Rope Access delivered an efficient and well-managed solution under challenging site conditions. Their rope access approach significantly reduced disruption to our operations, and their safety standards and communication throughout the project were excellent. We were particularly impressed with the quality of workmanship and the speed of delivery.”
