The Brief
To design, supply, and install a replacement atrium roof system using Makrolon polycarbonate, upgrading the existing structure while maintaining safe operation of a live commercial site.
The Challenge
The project was undertaken within a live commercial environment, with restricted access and ongoing site activity below. The installation required the careful handling and lifting of heavy materials at height, demanding precise coordination to ensure safety, control, and minimal disruption throughout the works.
Our Solution
We delivered a full design, supply, and installation service for the atrium replacement, utilising rope access techniques to safely manage access constraints and reduce the need for extensive temporary works.
Detailed lift planning and sequencing allowed existing glazing to be removed and new polycarbonate panels to be installed safely within live areas, with strict exclusion zones and control measures maintained at all times.
The Result
The atrium replacement was completed safely and efficiently within a live commercial setting. The new Makrolon polycarbonate system was successfully installed, providing a durable, high-quality solution while maintaining site operations throughout the programme.
Client Feedback
“High Torque Rope Access delivered an efficient and well-managed solution under challenging site conditions. Their rope access approach significantly reduced disruption to our operations, and their safety standards and communication throughout the project were excellent. We were particularly impressed with the quality of workmanship and the speed of delivery.”
